The pioneering “#Punkt #Festival” returns to Kristiansand from September 3rd through 5th 2026 with 3 days of #concerts, #seminars and #Live #Remix, bringing together some of the most distinctive voices in #contemporary #jazz, #improvisation, #sound #art and #experimental #music.

The concert programme opens with Norwegian drummer/composer Erland Dahlen and Ethiopian singer Eténèsh Wassié, followed by the duo constellation of Nils Petter Molvær and Daniel Herskedal. Friday offers the lyrical, boundary-crossing piano world of Tania Giannouli, followed by Jan Bang’s “#Alighting”, live-remixed by Erik Honoré, and finally a meeting between Bugge Wesseltoft, Arild Andersen and Gard Nilssen. On Saturday, the programme moves from the singular Henriette Eilertsen Trio and the quintet “#Cimota” to the hypnotic, groove-based psychedelia of “Goran Kajfeš Tropiques”.

At the heart of “Punkt” remains the festival’s Live Remix concept: concerts are immediately processed and transformed by other musicians. The 2026 Live Remix programme includes Arild Andersen/Jan Bang, Ingri Jordahl with students from the Live Remix Workshop, Alessandra Bossa, Erik Honoré with guests, “#Doglover95” with students from the workshop, Even Sigurdsen Røsta/Emanuel Bang/Audun Skeie, and “New Conception of Jazz”: Bugge Wesseltoft, Ingebrigt Håker Flaten and Anders Engen.

“Punkt” Seminar 2026 is presented in collaboration with “CreaTeME”, curated and hosted by David Toop. This year’s seminar programme brings Toop into conversation with Miki Yui, Lina Lapelytė, Vicki Bennett/“People Like Us”, Yara Asmar, Mike Cooper and Ecka Mordecai: artists working across improvisation, collage, song, performance, field recording and the expanded possibilities of sound. This is more than a seminar in the traditional sense: it is a combination of presentations, conversations and intimate concerts/performances.

“Punkt 2026” also includes a Live Remix Workshop for music students at the University of Agder.

“Punkt” Seminar and the Live Remix Workshop are arranged in collaboration with “CreaTeME” — the University of Agder’s Centre for Excellence in Creative Use of Technologies in Music #Education. The interdisciplinary “Punkt” Seminar sessions at Kunstsilo are made possible by contributions from “Cultiva”.
